    An extract from Amicus Medicorum by Johannes Ganivetus {Friend of Physicians by Jean Ganivet} completed in 1431, first published 1496. It is also referred to by the author as The Dictionary of Astrology Made Medical. This translation is from the 2nd edition published in 1508 at Lyon by Johannes Cleyn {Clein Schwab}. Described by Thorndike as "probably the most influential treatise composed in Europe during the fifteenth century" in the field of astrological medicine. Translation by Robert Zoller.

    Plato's Republic discusses Justice in the State and in the individual man.
    Book 7 opens with the parable of the Cave which as Plato explains, is an allegory of the soul's ascent from "the prison-house", ie the sensible world, to the intellectual realm of spiritual causes and the Good.
